Popularly known gospel singer, Samsong in a recent interview with daily independent talked about his singing career, issues relating gospel artistes and why he is into only gospel music. The Delta state born singer resigned from being a banker to embrace full-time music. According to him, he has no regrets going into gospel music. “Music for me has been interesting, particularly as a gospel musician. The passion to do things fro God has kept me going as a gospel artiste.”Before you can become a gospel artiste, you first and foremost have to be a Christian. It is not just a music thing, it is a lifestyle thing. To be a gospel artiste, you must be born again and must be living the life of the gospel. You can’t be a gospel artiste and not be born again, it is contradictory and that is double-standard,” he said. He added that music is his calling and he does not see himself leaving music for acting, though he has done some stage performances in the past. “Acting is something I just love to do. I only act in Christian movies and movies with good moral values,” he said.
