Beyoncé has revealed her mother Tina Knowles is her biggest inspiration admiring her for seeing the ‘best qualities’ in everybody.
The 31-year-old gushed in a candid video interview: ‘My mother’s gift is finding the best qualities in every human being,’ she said as she sat on the floor of an apartment.
Wearing a white sweater, skinny jeans and high-tops the mother-of-one spoke out for Chime For Change, Gucci’s global campaign for women’s empowerment.
‘I think her gift is understanding and helping people get to their best selves,’ she said of her mother, who used to design the costumes for Destiny’s Child.
At the end of the clip, released Monday, a banner asks viewers: ‘Who do you chime for?’
The video was launched in advance of upcoming concert The Sound of Change Live, which will see performances by Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding, Florence and the Machine, Rita Ora and more, all in aid of women’s issues.
Beyoncé, who celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with Jay-Z on Thursday, said: ‘Our goal is to call for change for girls and women in the loudest voice possible.’
She explained that the event is a chance ‘to bring the issues of education, health and justice for girls and women to the world stage.’
The event will be held in London’s Twickenham Stadium and broadcast around the world on June 1st.
